Private Counselling
Individual Counselling, Family, Relationship; Adult or Child.
Face to face or online
My specialist fields of study are Family & Domestic Violence; Perpetrator Behaviour Change; Substance or Alcohol Dependency or concerns; Grief & Loss. I studied these in particular as part of my own healing journey.
I welcome all diverse people. No judgment here.
While I offer traditional talk therapy, I offer the option to use Drums, percussion or other instruments to help you express, where words might be difficult at first.
Narrative Therapy is another mode I like to offer, as I have found writing stories, songs and poems a therapeutic and helpful way to release.
Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to address the Thoughts, Beliefs and Attitudes that shape our behaviours, I can help you find healthier ways to navigate life’s challenges.
Using Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) - I can help guide you to accept the experiences you have gone through, as teachings that guide us on our next journey, and to identify strategies and goals to build resilience and coping mechanisms to be ready for any future challenge.
Using music as Therapy - you get to choose how you want to express the stored up emotions that have been weakening your nervous system and vagus nerve. Through musical expression we can begin to build self confidence, self worth, happiness, freedom, heal our inner child, reduce anxiety & depression; reduce anger and frustration, and begin to feel healthy and relaxed again.
While I am not a music instructor, I have several instruments to experiment with, and this is the key to successful healing journeys - experiment, have fun and celebrate the losses as well as the wins.

✺
Counselling sessions are centred around you and your needs, working at your pace. We work together to find the time when your rhythm was lost or became so blended with others, you lost your true self.
-
✺
Counselling sessions take many forms to encourage discussion: in private within the music studio, on the verandah surrounded by birds and nature, or you can walk and talk. There is also an opportunity to take some percussion with us and go sit on a rock, wherever you feel most comfortable.
-
✺
While traditional talk therapy is absolutely an option; you have the choice to relax into your session with a Djembe (African drum) or Hand Drum, Ocean Drum, Floor Tom, Tongue Drum, Tonal Bells, Hand Pan or just a warm beverage.
-
✺
The physical and mental benefits of drumming come from rhythmic healing. Drumming makes our bodies, brainwaves and energy channels (such as meridians or chakras) vibrate in response. Together with my theoretical studies in Counselling, we are sure to find a healing vibe to help guide you on your journey to healing.

No. I am a registered counsellor, which is different. I use musical instruments and drums/percussion for free expression to encourage your creativity and bring some fun into your life. I started as a support worker in the field of Domestic & Family Violence in 2014, although I feel like I’ve been counselling people for many years, I received documentation to certify my skills in 2021.
Clients I have worked with have experienced being victims of Domestic & Family Violence; Perpetrators of abuse; victims of sexual abuse; victims of substance abuse/dependency; persons who live with someone dependent on drugs or alcohol; persons who have no fixed address; persons who have experienced loss and grief - whether that be a death of a friend or loved one, or loss of themselves.
I am a lived experience worker which has been invaluable for my clients, who have provided feed back that my understanding, non judgmental acceptance and rapport building having been key to their recovery journey.

I can arrange to meet you at a local CRC centre; library or suitable private space, but I do not carry out home visits unless you have a support worker who can be present.

Music has been the ice breaker for many clients including those who prefer not to express through words initially. The drums are a great way to tell me what you are experiencing without speaking too much. This is very beneficial for people with extreme anxiety; Autism; Non-verbal clients; and using an instrument as a medium, can help with those initial nervous feelings when meeting for the first time. Music is also great for improving memory, focus, concentration, reducing stress, and having fun. Counselling does not have to be dull. We can have fun while healing.
