My Experience
My experience as a counsellor has led me me to working with some amazing resilient people:
living with or escaping Family & Domestic Violence;
people with addictions to alcohol or illicit substances; tobacco; gambling; screens; sexual activities
experiencing the short and longer term effects of Grief & Loss;
victim to sexual abuse as a child, or as an adult;
pre-release and post release support to people in the justice system, and in need of guidance and support in order to live out in community and prevent reoffending;
living with co-dependency
needing healthier communication styles
living with special needs and/or are neurodiverse would like to use music as a form of using their voice
parents looking for support on how to best meet their Childs/Teens needs, or healthier ways to discipline and set healthy boundaries
I love music. I play drums, and the Djembe (African Drum). I turned to playing drums after an extended period of grief that rocked my world.
The frequency of drums and percussion soothes and grounds me. It also excites and fires up my soul. I believe my soul purpose in life is to help others heal through the art of active listening, and through music. Combined - we have Beat It Drum Therapy.
My role as a counsellor, facilitator and parent (which is by far the toughest job of them all), has helped shape who I am today - humble, grateful, resilient and empowered.
